Why am I getting pop-ups on this board offering to teach me how to swear in French?

I thought our computers were supposed to be so compromised, these places are supposed to know all about us, in which case they know full well I already know how to swear in French. I would understand if they were offering to teach me how to swear in Amharic.....

7. It's not the ads I object to

But they're supposed to have researched each computer they're sent to, they usually seem to know what brand of toothpaste I used from the ages of 7 to 9¾. By the same reasoning, they ought to know that of all the languages I would like to learn to swear in, after 40 years of working with France and being in Paris just about once a week, plus having an office in the French-speaking part of Switzerland for over 30 years, French is one language I can already swear in with great proficiency. Why not Cantonese, so I can deal with these Gwei-lo!

There are still a few bugs in the system, methinks. I get inappropriate ads all the time. Car ads in Spanish? Ads for feminine hygeine products? Not to mention all the hard RW politcal ads (mostly begging for money).
