The sign went up Aug. 7, after months of tension between the Prices and their nextdoor neighbors culminated in the Prices getting a $121 ticket from the city over their dogs, James Price said Friday.
Shortly after a retired couple moved into the rental house next door about two years ago, Price said the wife came over "a few times" to ask that the Prices keep their four dogs inside the house until 9 a.m. because the retirees liked to sleep late....
One Sunday morning a few weeks ago, the dogs "were going nuts" about something outside, and not long after that the Prices got the ticket from animal control officials. They've not paid it yet and have a court date for Thursday, Price said.

(2,620 posts)be seen and not heard - IMHO.
A little story:
One of my boys has a large male Catahoula; recently we were all together for a family reunion and he brought "Blue" along. At one point we were wondering aloud if Blue even could bark - because he never did - even at all the other dogs who were present (we're a dog family). So my son said of course he barks - "Blue, speak!" - and let me tell you he could! Blue has one of those lower-pitch LOUD big-dog barks that will put the fear of God into you if you're caught unawares (rrrroof!). Otherwise Blue is just a big baby. He would stand outside the bathroom whining while waiting for my son to come out. But that was the extent of his regular vocalisation.
Good dog!
Ok - another anecdote from the event: one of the younger kids got up early and came out of the bedroom and was met by Blue in the hallway (my son spent the night on the living-room couch - with Blue right there with him of course). Now Blue and this sleepy 4 yr-old are standing eye-to-eye, nose to nose; what the boy was thinking I don't know (but it was probably something like "oh, sh!t, this dog is gonna eat me!" . Anyway after a few (long) seconds, Blue gives the boy a big lick - right across his face, and without batting an eye, the boy turns to the rest of us and says "he likes me!".
Good Dog!

(2,620 posts)with my son's cats. He was telling me about one of his "new" cats an old softie named 'Chevy'. Apparently Chevy wasn't too soft with Blue however, when Chevy first "moved-in". Blue just wanted to be friends (you know give Chevy a sniff), but the cat was having none of that, and would keep chasing Blue from whatever room he (Chevy) was in.
Well, it seems they've settled their differences and are buddies now (now that Chevy has seen that Blue is not really out to eat his food after all).
I should note that Blue was a rescue by my daughter. It became apparent over time though, that he was really my "son's dog". So when he moved out it was agreed that Blue would go with him - they've been together ever since.
I assume from your name that you have a mixed environment too - dogs and cats living together (insanity!)
Have they all learned to get along?

(16,383 posts)Again, like Blue, the cat bosses the dog around. Danika (my dog) just wants to be friends, but the cat bullies her ceaselessly. Sometimes the cat--who is tiny, btw--won't let Danika walk into a particular room, sometimes she won't let her use the stairs, etc. It's sad.

(60,010 posts)if the dogs were inside the house "going nutz about something outside" like my dog does..
or
if the article was saying the dogs were outside and barking.
Nor does it say if they were outside before the legal time.
so unclear to me what the violation was.

(14,691 posts)sell the house? Who wants to live next to an alleged douchebag?
OTOH a prospective buyer could try to reach out to the "douchebags" and form their own opinion. IMO in this case it's the Prices.
