I got a pissed off panda

When I was 3 or 4, I got a stuffed, giant sized panda bear with a gigantic red bow for Christmas. I don't remember anything else about it except getting it (no other history for it). So in the past few years, going over things to take one last thrust at making sense of whatever, I mentioned it and one of the Young said, "Oh, Grandpa (my father) gave me a panda, just for me." Now, she didn't know any panda but that one (not mine). I was taken aback. I asked my elder sister, and she informed that Daddy had given pandas to (several?) new arrivals. I asked what his thing with pandas was, and she said that back then, 50 yrs ago, there had been a big deal in the news about a panda in a world zoo, that it was all the rage and he had gotten into it. Fine. Somebody said something about pandas being special to them because of him, and I (an old, old man) blurted out, "That's *MY* panda!1"

So, flash forward. I decided I wanted a small panda as a dashboard item and ordered one, the smallest I found, 5", and it had a very cute expression. That's the cute one in the advertisement. On the right is the one I got. This is NOT a complaint. I love it, and the organization that sells it is sterling in environmental issues. But it sure looks PISSED!1

I was thinking the panda is saying, "*THIS* is why we lost Vietnam!1" or "I got *DRAFTED* for this?!1"

Note: I/UTUSN was not drafted, for the record.

I'd be tempted to dress him in a Chucky outfit.

He was taken by the time I called. He is thoroughly pissed, not, I hope, the reason he ended up in the shelter, but rather for being subjected to the indignity of doggie jail. A regal being like him, how dare.
