International Literacy Day In an age of enlightenment, technology and modern living, it’s amazing that it’s estimated that nearly 800 million adults worldwide lack basic literacy skills.

Literacy Day aims to highlight the importance and value of literary education for individuals and groups, and for the wider global culture. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/literacy-day/

Pardon Day Forgiveness, the process by which an offended party chooses to change the way they feel about someone who has committed the offense against them. It bears a distinct difference from the idea of condoning (where one does not see the offense as wrong, and therefor not needing forgiveness), excusing the action (where you place the blame for the action on someone else entirely), giving pardon (cleared by a legal representative), forgetting (where the action no longer exists in memory in any real or present way), or the act of reconciliation (where the relationship is restored without the action strictly being forgiven). https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/pardon-day/

Iguana Awareness Day What’s not to love about an aggressive, cold-blooded, reptile with nasty bite and a powerfully strong tail? Learn all about these cute critters and how to care for them on Iguana Awareness Day.

As with so many pets, not all new owners realise what they are committing to when they first take home their baby iguana. That little bundle of scales could one day grow to six feet in length. With very specific dietary needs and a rather reptilian personality, iguanas are said to be easy to love, but hard to care for.

Iguana Awareness Day is the ideal opportunity to learn about keeping your iguana tame and friendly, how to care for its health and personal grooming, and how to house it comfortably. With the proper care and attention, an iguana can be a wonderful and rewarding pet for many years. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/iguana-awareness-day/

World Physical Therapy Day The human body is remarkably easy to damage and break, and no more so than when participating in strenuous physical activity such as sporting or athletic activity.

Physical therapists work to undo damage, educate on healthy behaviour and to restore lost or damaged functionality. Physical Therapy Day, then, is dedicated to these professionals throughout the world, and aims to recognise their commitment to keeping us all fighting-fit. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/physical-therapy-day/

It takes a certain amount of tact and empathy to help an adult learn to walk again.
