On edit: progress is also different by more than inflection! Unless you are a Brit!

(53,339 posts)In Army Infantry OCS we had a guy named Pugliano who already had rank as a Warrant Officer helicopter pilot but wanted to get a commission.
Every once in a while somebody would get Pugliano's attention and twirl his fingers in the air while saying, "Wop wop wop wop." It was never bigoted or mean--everybody respected and loved Pugliano--but people couldn't resist the play on words.
