Some of us are not meant to have tidy homes, Part II

So I'm cleaning the accumulated debris from the winter, and I'm using the hard floor machine - it's a wet vac scrubber which is great on my sealed floors.

I notice it doesn't seem to be working as well as normal, so I turn it over and see that the bar that holds the little scrubbing brushes is gone. Now, I have an extra bar, so I install it and get back to work. I am left with 2 questions:

1. How long was I using the machine with no scrubber installed?

2. Where the hell did the original scrubber bar go to?

See, this is why I hate cleaning.

My adventures sound similar to yours.

Either I'm using something with a missing part, or what I'm using screws up or breaks and I have to stop what I'm doing to fix it and the whole "I think I'll vacuum the house in 10 minutes or less" deal turns into a stinking project that ends up taking an hour or more to resolve before I can even finish what I originally set out to do.

Mechanical things hate me.
