Beer

As a part of my weight loss deal I'm abstaining from one of my favorite things to do: drink beer. I love beer. I used to drink a twelve pack a week, mostly on the weekends.

My wife and I were checking to see if there were any Forensic Files episodes we haven't seen on Hulu today. We used to binge watch the show on Saturdays until we ran out of episodes. Nothing goes better with true crime than brewskies and I would get pleasantly buzzed on beer while we watched the show.

She cued up an episode and as the theme music was playing it triggered a desire for beer.

I'm staying the course, though. I had to chug a glass of water and lay down for a little bit, but I'm staying the course.

There is half a day's worth of calories in a six pack of beer. I used to eat a lot and drink beer. Now the option is eat or drink beer if I want to keep losing weight. If I chose beer, I think that would be an indicator of a problem.

I wish I could transfer my dislike for beer to you. I don't like it; to me it tastes unpleasantly bitter and kind of like I'd imagine urine to taste. So I never have the urge to drink it. I can be tempted with chocolate brownies, though.
