Hi all,
If you had a choice between a 2012 VW Golf or a 2012 Honda Civic, what would you buy?
Pro's and cons?
I like build and finish of a VW, but I am a little turned off from price and fuel mileage.
I like the civic also (i currently am leasing one), but while it's cost, efficiency and reliability are great it feels a little "cheap" to me in comparison to the golf.
What do you think???

I'd also check out the Subaru Impreza and Chevy Cruze.

(2,034 posts)EPA says 30 mpg in town, 42 on the highway; once the engine is broken in a little, you'll probably do better than that, as the EPA mileage spec penalizes diesels.
I've been driving an Audi A3 TDI for the last two years -- it has the same engine as the Golf, but in a Jetta-sized body. My mileage slightly exceeds the EPA figures for the smaller Golf, and would be even better if I were a bit less lead-footed.

Now driving Dad's '93 Toyo wagon.
MAY be better off with Honda for reliability/cost/efficiency. Haven't studied it.
