I am watching "Blazing Saddles" and...

after 40 years it's still the silliest, most ridiculous, insane, hilarious sendup of, well, damn near everything.

And, yes, farts are still funny. Funnier, even, than midgets walking large dogs or Gucci saddlebags.

"These people are the common clay of the New West. You know... morons."

We're not sure. Are we black?
Yes we are
Then we're awake ...but very puzzled.

I use two quotes regularly:

1) We've got to protect our phony baloney jobs!

2) Now go do the voodoo that YOU do so well!

Hilarious, for all time ....

Even in that movie, "Pardon me, ma'am, you're sucking on my arm" was considered too raunchy.

Too many 'micro-aggressions', no 'trigger warnings', flatulence, words that might offend, stereotypes and schwanztes.

Although given the content of some of the crazier movies that are made now, is some of the content in Blazing Saddles really *THAT* offensive when you think about it?

In fact, the first time I saw it, I thought Gilliam might be Slim's son. And Slim's middle name was Burton, too. It must have been a trip for Gilliam to be in a film with such a legendary character actor.
