Lounge always works where tech support doesn't. Firefox plugin question.

It was a milestone for me to depart IE and go to Firefox. Blase me, it hasn't been that much of an adjustment, but it's a feelgood that it's a not-for-profit thing. Anyway, I get a black box covering part of video displays saying "A plugin is needed to display this content." Before running whining to Lounge I *did* try to look for an answer, but this Support link is Greek to me, and I see no "battery looking icon." Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Don't click on them, as you could possibly introduce nasty malware to your computer. If you see an "X" in the upper right hand corner, click on it. It should close the box. If not, it may open a pop-up, which you can close. Just don't load the plug-in. If you want to check if you have the plug-in already, and the right version, go up to the menu under "Tools", click on "Add Ons." In the column on the left, go to "Plug Ins." You will see all your plug-ins, as well as which version. At the top of the list, there's a link to check to see if everything is up to date. If not, update through that, rather than through any video.

If you don't have the AdblockPlus extension, strongly consider adding it. It will get rid of most of the fake plug-in ads.

And, yeah, Mozilla's help page sucks.

With the new versions of Firefox, the Menu items are located within the orange Firefox button up top.

Oh, I've got my FF interface totally reconfigured.. I hate the new design, especially that ugly arrow button.

At least it's no longer freezing up on me to a point where I have to re-start it.

After a few minutes, a pop-up pops-up to inform me that a script has stopped running. No matter what I choose, it freezes again until the window pops back up. This continues until I close Firefox from the Task Manager. It reloads all my pages on relaunch so I'm not losing anything; it's just an annoyance. :/

Some pages are full of script that can take forever to run if you don't have enough RAM. It doesn't matter what browser one uses. You'll still get those pop-ups in Chrome or whatever. My desktop is ancient, and there are certain sites I avoid because of this issue. I only visit them on my newer laptop.

I changed to that when FireFox messed up its interface quite awhile back, and I have never looked back.

Only for Firefox. Go figure. You should be able to get it from Adobe here:

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Thing is, it's a no-go here at the office 'cause the IT guy set it up so only he can do installs. So any time I need to look at Flash (weather, radar, Youtube, etc.), I have to do it in Exploder!
