(33,688 posts)and found them really creepy. The Lennon Sisters were the only act that held up out of the weird, audio-animatronic context of the Welk show.
Never saw it as a kid. In my boyhood my family watched Jackie Gleason (mom) or All-Star Wrestling (dad) on Saturday nights. I'd wander back and forth between the two.

I'm not sure which was funnier, the husband trying to justify sitting around on a Friday nite before a gig watching Lawrence Welk, or the drummer trying to convince the guitar player that they should all wear matching leisure suits...seriously.
