prime? I grew up in that Era 1973-75 but was only into Progressive Rock Groups and saw Pink Floyd, ELP, Yes, David Bowie, Genesis Peter Gabriel version, Hawkwind and Jethro Tull in concert. But kind of missed out on groups like Three Dog Night, Chicago, Doobie Brothers, Grand Funk and Bad Company and regret it now. They seemed to commercial to me back, then not hard enough. Anyone seen those groups that I had chances to see but wasn't interested in and I am now?

(22,271 posts)Three years in a row. I think it was 1970, 1971 and 1972 in L.A. (71, 72, 73?) By the last concert they were so inundated with drugs they could hardly perform. It sucked. But the first two years were pretty good.

(22,271 posts)(don't remember the venue), all I had to go on was the sound and as a vocalist I know everyone needs to be paying attention to entrances and cut-offs and be exactly on key for the harmonies to work. In the last concert none of that worked. If you're going to have 3-part harmony, you need 3 voices all working together.

(9,314 posts)Doobie Brothers three times. They put on awesome concerts. Saw Three Dog Night - great concert. Saw Chicago 3 times - 1 concert was good, the other 2 sucked. Grand Funk was great. The James Gang sucked, but the opening band, Wet Willie was pretty damn good.
