(12,723 posts)There is just as much money in college sports as so-called professional. They just don't have to pay the players. Since the football coach at OU is the highest paid state employee I think it is every bit about the money.

(29,149 posts)If he wanted an injury to stop the clock, he could have gone down himself. Why run and tell another player to fake the injury? Of course, faking an injury would mean he would have to sit out at least for one play, so in the case of a crucial player and a more disposable one you could perhaps understand it. But that seems unlikely here.
I think that what is really happening is that Burt is hurting, but wanting to play through it, and Reid is telling him to get down so he can get medical attention.
(I say that as a Sooner fan.)
