My favorite Christmas songs are
Santa Claus is Coming to Town
Santa Baby
I want an alien for Christmas
Snoopy's Christmas
I also like the Chanukah song by Adam Sandler. It is one of the songs that I listen to when I'm wrapping presents. I figured that I would ask this now since I haven't gotten sick of Christmas music yet for this season.

I will say I did always like this tune, even before....

(34,412 posts)It's just not the holidays without it.
I also had a wild tuxedo cat named Howie (short for Hell on Wheels) who absolutely loved the song "Run, Run Rudolph" by Chuck Berry. He'd run into the room when he'd hear it & want me to pick him up to dance. Man, I miss that cat, sigh.

I never missed a Perry Como Christmas special when he was still alive and performing. Once I heard Perry, I felt ready for Christmas!

(115,761 posts)there are a few that I really, really loathe, especially as arranged for easy listening in the elevator. Which I think was the reason some of them were written in the first place. My pet hates:
"The Little Drummer Boy"
"Do You Hear What I Hear"
"Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" and similar novelty songs
The first two are treacly and annoying. "Grandma" is just stupid.
So, bah humbug.

Sadly, the production quality of the album leaves a great deal to be desired. But this track is just delightful.

(22,897 posts)The traditional ones, I mean. I like nearly all of them but I think that "O, Holy Night" is the most exquisitely beautiful of them all. When I hear it sung, it brings tears to my eyes and I get goosebumps.

(8,646 posts)One of my favorite memories was in our local Catholic church - we didn't normally go (my parents are lapsed Catholics...and quite anti-religion in general) but one year when I was a teenager we went to midnight mass - which where I live is in French - as my mom was feeling nostalgic as they did midnight mass when she was a kid. When the choir sang "Minuit Chretien" I nearly had an out of body experience it was so beautiful. It remains one of my favorites to this day. Another favorite of mine that we sang often in school, also a French carol, is "Il est né, le divin enfant"
I also love Coventry Carol and Carol of the Bells.
I love pretty much all of them. Well, there are a few I could do without (ahem, Paul McCartney) but most of them I can't get enough of around Christmas.

Hey, look at Santa, man, he's flipped
Went and got himself all hipped
"Man, I'm a cool cat", Santa said
"A big fat daddy-o dressed in red"
Ho ho ho (Man, I'm beat!)
Ho ho ho (My aching feet!)
