Describe your favorite movies as vaguely as possible and see if others can guess them

I'll start:

A burn victim and his 2 children explore a lot of places
A sailor and his pet chase a con artist
A guy goes on a treasure hunt in order to overthrow a dictator
A bunch of easily offended people pick a fight with their closest neighbor

The last scenes begin at twilight on the day that Macario shared the turkey with Death. He has not come home, and his wife and some villagers are looking for Macario out in the woods only to find him peacefully dead, next to a turkey divided in halves: one of which is eaten, the other being intact, as if he died not fulfilling his dream of eating a complete turkey for himself.

I was a pre-schooler, the youngest child, and we were on vacation and it was raining. The family went to the movies. Of course I had no idea what was going on and fell asleep (I think that was the plan) anyway, around that time the Apollo moon missions were going on. I think it was Apollo 8 in which they orbited the moon, but it took three more missions before they figured out how to land on the moon. Every time Apollo 8 was said by Walter Cronkite, I thought he was saying "Apollo Ape."

Never saw Planet of the Apes in theater, just on TV. My step-father was into films and film-making though and as such I was exposed to movies of all sorts as a young one. From Disney classics to the Marx Brothers and WC Fields to the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I first Saw Star Wars on a boot-legged VHS tape. First movies I can remember seeing in the theater are ET and Bladerunner.

It is fascinating how mundane things can trigger memories on top of memories.

one of the reasons i like it is that it was shot in chicago, mostly.
but it is supposed to be set in new york. there is a scene where they decked out an el station entrance to look like the ny subway, but the calder in the federal plaza is clearly visible, reflected in a window.

i'm sure that doesnt help.

also contained one of my favorite jokes.
older sister to younger sister with the prize husband-
dating at my age is tough. men are like parking places. all the good ones are taken and all the available ones are handicapped.

i'm sure that doesnt help, either.

Lawrence of Arabia is a good guess for #5, although I'm not sure that Lawrence would have been considered a "fop", that is, a wealthy man who is excessively concerned about clothes and fashion-- like the man in the Kinks song "Dedicated Follower of Fashion". In fact, that song opens with a phrase that was used in the movie (and book of the same name) I'm thinking about

BTW: He does have one more line when he tells the one kid's dad "I've got something to say."

OK: I'm a freak about that movie.

This is one of my favorite films.

A man who is good with his fists only wants to enter the medical profession and win the heart of a beauty with reddish hair. He is thwarted by his best friend who sets him up to take the fall for his crime. Also a woman speaks about radical ideas.
