NOOOOO!!!!! Puppyfish is gone!

I work in a building that has a small cafe on the first floor. When I go for coffee or a sandwich, I pass by a large aquarium in the hallway. There I see tropical fish of many shapes and colors, but one such fish that I nicknamed Puppyfish always made me smile!

As you can see from the photo (not Puppyfish but of the same species), Puppyfish always had a smile for me! And not only that, he followed me around, like a puppy (hence the name). I could look in the aquarium and when Puppyfish saw me he'd swim over to me and look back. Then, I could move over a bit and he would follow me. I could move all around the aquarium and Puppyfish would soon be there, looking at me and smiling!

I know it sounds silly, but he really picked up my spirits if I was in a blue funk. He brighten my day!

Today, I walked down the hall to the cafe and the aquarium contained all new fish. I was perplexed until a guard told me about the tragedy: the pump gave out and that led to a lack of oxygen.

I'll miss Puppyfish

Large Aquariums usually have 2 or even more pumps...for obvious reasons.

Maybe there was more than one pump and it was a glitch in the the electrical source that led to the failures; I just don't know...

I would like to have made a short video of Puppyfish for posting on the Internet but I didn't have the technology to do so.

He was such a delight and nothing like any fish I'd seen before!

that sucks. It is nice that you had each other, Puppyfish must have been very fond of you as we were of him. I find that just really sweet and a nice memory to carry after you get over feeling bad. I am sorry, I would be in a real sad way too if it were me.

I used to turn and say, "Look at this fish! He'll follow you around!"

They must have thought I was ready for the county hospital.

milk chocolate brown in color, with dark chocolate bumps. He looked delicious. Always brightened my day somehow.
