(27,845 posts)I didn't see your post until after I posted mine.
I wish someone would post the music video...it's a great song.
(When I was in college, I had a '55 Chevy with a 409 engine in it)
I think The Beach Boys "409" came out in '62 or'63, because I knew someone who had a
"brand new 409" in 1963, which was the first year Chevy made them.

He kept a large blanket over it (in the garage) so the cat couldn't put paw prints on it.

(47,564 posts)We don't need a reason.
The Golden Goose is on the loose
And never out of season.
Blackened pride still burns inside
This shell of bloody treason.
Here's my gun for a barrel of fun
For the love of living death.
The killer's breed or the demon's seed.
The glamour, the fortune, the pain.
Go to war again. Blood is freedom's stain.
Don't you pray for my soul anymore.

Wow!..Was this their only hit?
malthaussen
(17,216 posts)They were unfortunate enough to emerge during the height of Beatlemania, and then the Supremes came along to dominate the girl-group sound. 442 made it to 56 nationwide, but regionally it went higher (#2 in Miami, e.g.).

(27,845 posts)The little man walked up and down
To find an eating place in town
He read the menu through and through
To see what 15 cents could do
One meat ball
One meat ball
He could afford but one meat ball
He told the waiter near at hand
The simple dinner he had planned
The guests were startled one and all
To hear the waiter loudly call
One meat ball, Everybody
One meat ball
Hey this here gent wants
One meat ball
The little man felt ill at ease
He said some bread sir, if you please
The waiter hollered down the hall
You gets no bread with one meatball
The little man felt very bad
One meat ball was all he had
And in his dreams he hears that call
You gets no bread with one meatball
