Not to mention how it offends my (albeit admittedly warped) sensibilities.

Probably getting out of the shower. I don't mind snapping but I'd like it to be under a more dignified circumstance.

Have to deny that single tile its very existence.

That tile screams at me.

The trouble with painting over it, you'd always know it was . . . . there.

The kicker would be, if there is any age type patina, a replacement tile would never color match.

When I started in the sheet metal trade I started at a precision shop. Anything we did by hand was to the nearest 64th". Anything by machine was to the nearest .100thousandth. I never got over that. If we broke up a piece of steel it was 90 degrees, not 89 or 91. After there I went to a shop that produced duct work for high rises like the TransAmerica Pyrimyd. When they saw me taking out my Starette Square to check the ductwork for EXACTLY 90 degrees they about chopped my head off...but...the precision had already been established. Now, at 65, the same standerds are too ingrained to go away.

What you don't see in the last picture is the symmetry of the tiles. There is a red tile directly opposite this one on the ceiling.

Or else it's just one bit in a really, really big number.

Anyways, you don't want perfection, it's bad luck.

Or similar, the Japanese Wabi-sabi

There's also a tile tradition to incorporate an old tile into any remodel with newer tile.

And now that I think about it, wouldn't it be a funny joke to mix up some urine colored clear epoxy and sprinkle it about in front of a toilet?

That could be it.

So it was done either by a Zen Master or a mass-murdering sociopath.
