Ok, so I like to read before I go to sleep. I lay on my stomach on the bed and prop the book up in front
of me. Well apparently, this doesn't sit well with Kit, because it distracts me from adoring her in the proper manner.
She jumps up on the bed and creeps, very stealthily, to where I am laying and does sort of a "swoon" right in front, or ON
the book I'm reading. She rolls over on her back and looks up at me, and gives me the tiniest little girl cat "mew". She won't move until I put the book down. As soon as I do, she gets up and goes to lay on my Husbands chest. Hubby of course, thinks this is hilarious. Darned cat.

(11,862 posts)Evert night when I crawl into bed my kitty (very large Main Coonish) must jump in, sometimes before I can even get my covers on, and purrs in expectation of his head and ear rubs. His spot on the bed is where I would put my feed if it was clear, so I either must keep my legs curled or use sig others space to stretch out.

(35,675 posts)Yes, I, too, get the "am I not adorable?" routine. It's actually very cute and never fails to make me smile and hand out some tummy rubs.
But hah, most of you posters are getting off easy. My cats lack subtlety, doing things like knocking the phone out of my hand while I'm talking. If that doesn't work, they climb on my chest and insert themselves between me and the phone receiver. I've finally figured that I have a 2-minute window to get my message across before being cut off by a cat.
When guests come over, it's the same thing with the jump-on-the-chest trick. My guest cannot see my face, as I am talking into the side of a cat.
