Damn that is a fascinating, well-acted show with plot.

(39,961 posts)It is unfortunate that I only found out about it during this season.
They have a talented cast, and sharp writing.

(66,434 posts)Jim Caviezel.
He's the most boring, bland, forgettable non-actor I've ever seen on-screen. Even more than Julia Stiles.
I saw the film The Thin Red Line when it was released, and I remember reading later that Caviezel had a starring role; I don't even remember him being in it!
The fact that he's pretty-much a hometown boy (he even mentioned the town of Puyallup in an episode once, pronouncing it correctly; I only saw that because my wife, who is a fan of the show, had me watch the scene) couldn't convince me to watch the show. Everything he is in turns into a narcolepsy telethon.

(53,410 posts)I started watching that show but changed my mind as soon as I knew he was in it. He's a creepy person, a Sarah Palin type in his political beliefs. A good match for Mel Gibson's type of Christianity in his movie about Jesus in which he played Jesus.

(66,434 posts)Conservative evangelicals despise Catholics, even conservative ones.
Caviezel's embrace by the evangelical nutters after appearing in TPOTC is a little amusing...

(39,961 posts)Are you going to start lining up Episcopalians next? I'll stand in line with some of my friends while we are getting tossed under the bus.

(66,434 posts)I didn't say I despised Catholics; I said conservative evangelicals do. And my disdain for Caviezel and Mel Gibson is due to their words and their behavior, not the faith they claim to espouse.
Joe Biden is Catholic. There are lots of liberal and left-leaning Catholics out there.
