One of my first times on an airplane, when they still had those earphones and you could listen to different "channels," I remember listening to that...

Welcome back! We've missed you!

I'll always be grateful for that and I have always enjoyed your posts. DU has certainly changed a lot, more groups now than I even know about and I recognize fewer posters here everyday.

And you came back at a particularly difficult time, the most contentious election season I've witnessed here, worse than 2004 which I thought was pretty rough. But many of us long timers are hanging in here and I'm so happy to welcome you back! Please stick around this time and don't leave us for so long again!

And it is sad that in this election cycle, dems/liberals/progressives are fighting so much.

Truth is, every Republican that ran for president this year is insane and objectively unqualified for the office.

Every dem running this time would make a wonderful president. Differences between them? Sure. But especially between Sanders or Clinton, both excellent in their own way. I get tired of the bitching back and forth between certain people of both camps.

After such resounding defeats in the last couple of elections, it's impossible to believe that the Republicans just keep choosing worse every single time. They were initially looking for Paul Ryan to get them out of the corner they painted themselves into, but doesn't anyone remember the very last election??

As for DU, I agree on that, as well. The fighting and insults we see here are certainly unprecedented, at least in my time (2003). What we really need to be doing is getting out there and doing everything we can to ensure a high turnout so there is no possible chance of stealing or any of the other shenanigans the RW is so fond of. The alternatives are just unimaginable and we are in agreement on that or we wouldn't be here in the first place.

8. Quick story on a similar situation

Our daughter was moving to a new city with her boyfriend many years back.
As always with moving we needed a couple of things.
It was late in the day and were were tired. So we decided to go to WallyWorld.
We knew approximately where it was but weren't finding it. We came off the interstate to be greeted by a billboard that said "ASK JESUS"
Being a little punchy at the time I said why not and yelled out "Jesus Christ, Where is the Walmart?"

I then turned left, drove over the overpass and there was the Walmart just a couple blocks ahead.
My kids about died laughing.
