OK...I know it will offend some, but that's funny, right there.

(265 posts)My husband is the one who has to look everything over before choosing what to buy, whether we're at the farmers market or the outlet mall. And buying even so much as a pair of concert tickets online takes days.
Generalizations like these crack me up. Maybe we're the exception that proves the rule?

(34,136 posts)And we only buy used. We have already done our research before we start looking so it's just a matter of price and distance. I have used Cars.com for the last two and been happy with the results.
The last two vehicles we bought were simple - the Suburban was hard to find because I needed a 3/4 ton and they don't make a lot of those. I'd tried a pickup and didn't like it even with the topper so a Suburban works better for us. Once I found one within driving distance, it was just a matter of getting there with the money before someone else bought it.
The Prius was a little harder a decision. The best option I found was a little older than I'd hoped for but the price was terrific. I dithered for a couple of days before finally making the decision to drive to the town where it was to take a look. Even my friend the car salesman that was looking for one for us said we got a great deal.

(34,136 posts)But he's a Honda salesperson and the Toyota guys didn't want to give him any good deals. The Prius we got was too old and too high mileage for the dealer to certify so they sold it to a used car lot down the road. It's been very reliable, considering it is now over ten years old, and it was what we could afford at the time.
Next time I hope we won't have to rush buying - my husband was still commuting at the time he got T-boned in his old car - and can let our friend find us a newer Prius, or maybe Honda will make hybrids that my husband can fit into!
