Dining in small town Indiana (pics).

We took a short journey to Cambridge City, Indiana to go to one of my wife's favorite diners today: Lumpy's. Lunch for two came to $11.88 plus tip. My wife claims they have the best pork tenderloin sandwiches in the area.

BTW, imgur.com is the funk. I just started using that site for photo hosting after getting fed up with photobucket. Somebody suggested it to me here a while ago. I wish I would have made the switch sooner. I'll probably post a lot more pictures now.

The restaurant looks very homey and nice! And I'm digging the lack of traffic!

You look great.......happy and contented, just as you should!

The pictures look great too.....photographically speaking!

The first three pictures were taken with a 7 year old 6.0 megapixels digital camera I have. It's the same one I had when I visited you out in California. The next three were taken with my wife's iPad.

And that looks like my kind of place, too, always choose local diners over the chains... And you look happy, too!

haven't had a meal yet, been up for 5 hours. I'll eat here at home, though. I've an idea for you for the 4th of July. The best 4th of July I ever spent was in Brazil Indiana.

The volunteer department at the time had a fried chicken dinner, that was delicious. There was a small fair and great fireworks. If you want check it out and see if they've continued this.

Hopefully we'll get to go up there again some day - my wife has folks in Bloomington and Indy and I had a great vacation there a couple years back. Lots of great food. We especially liked Gray's cafeteria in Indianapolis and there was a BBQ place near the Airport we liked too.

Lumpy's looks the kind of place I'd go out of my way to find. I absolutely love eating at small, locally-owned places. Whether it's a one-off or a regional chain, I just love that kind of stuff. That is a magnificent looking sandwich. And the home fries look like they got the right amount of crisp on the edges. Yessir, I'm marking that down for next time we go to visit folks up there.

When we lived in the Midwest I always enjoyed exploring these industrial artifacts.

I had to look it up:
