(54,256 posts)3. Telephoning for fish.
An old man took me 'telephoning' for fish when I was a kid.
He had a small generator which came from an old hand cranked telephone.
Dropped a couple of wire leads over the sides of the boat and cranked away.
A few seconds YUUGE catfish came gasping to the surface.
Scoop 'em up in a large net.
TOTALLY illegal, but the old man didn't give a shit.
He'd lived on the river his whole life and made moonshine to boot.

(54,770 posts)6. I've heard of that and seen Noodling. I prefer catch and release Trout
fishing, although it's been awhile since I did it in the Chattahoochee River. Catching and eating in that River might subject one to some serious bacterial disease.
