7. No. It's measured by eGFR: estimated glomerular filtration rate.

The rate at which your kidneys filter wastes from your blood.

It's one marker in a CMP: complete metabolic panel. It's a pretty basic panel I order for nearly all my patients with some sort of chronic disease.

8. So, there is no way to guesstimate.

Last test results were ok. Guesstimating a drink or two now and then isn't a problem.
