It was a definite bolster to the ol' ego considering current events in the life of the Tobster.
I know I'm smart. I've got a bachelor's degree and finished school with a 3.952 GPA. But there is a kind of intelligence that's so much more important than the ability to get good grades in school. That kind of intelligence is emotional intelligence. It requires that you have the capacity for empathy, something that is sorely lacking in American culture today.
For that reason, my grandpa S., who didn't get past the 8th grade, was brilliant compared to most people in America today, including many of those who have advanced degrees...especially MBAs.

You are, at LEAST, a brilliant writer, as we all know.

(10,418 posts)I wish I could find someone that would pay me for my words. But, as it is, I have to be content with the praises of random people from the Internet. Not that those random people don't matter. It just doesn't pay the rent.

And I know it has kept you steady in the light of the difficulties you've encountered.
