4. He took many things from the counters over the years....

A 5# uncooked roast beef, a $20, and 6 out of 8 oatmeal peach muffins; all of those were before he was one. I finally learned to clip a lead from his collar to my jean belt loop so he was almost always supervised. I miss that dog so much.

That girl was smart. After being scolded for taking the whole box of donuts she learned to take them one at a time. By the time you realized what she was up to she was finished with the dozen.

Good times.

11. Did we have the same dog?

He made many scores over the years, including a pound of butter, half a dozen muffins and half a rack of lamb. He eventually learned to push a stool to the counter, jump up and riffle through the upper cabinets. We even made a WANTED poster for our miscreant with a $1,000,000 reward for counter surfing.

On edit: Mine was a pointer breed as well (the potato hunter is a Viszla)

9. I once had a dog that took the Easter ham off the counter.

She ate a little and buried the remainder in the garden. Fortunately, we had already eaten a lot of it. Ham is way too salty for dogs. Anyway, when we figured out what had happened we were laughing too hard to get mad at her.

Which is impressive when you think about the physics of trying to stand her 70 pounds up on her 4 inch hind legs. She also had amazing leaping ability when scared by thunder. Our foreign exchange student came in late one night, flopped into bed without turning the lights on, only to realize that he had a drooling bedmate.

The Handsome Prince was fed a homemade diet for 10 yrs to try to lessen his seizures; sweet potatoes, yams, root veggies were major components, Alex did score raw veggies as I dragged in the other groceries.
That article was my life. Good times& good memories.
