Between Jobs Fund 4 this Senior | Please help if you can

My name is Ed. I am 68 and trying desperately to get back into the job market, but at my age it's not easy.
I hate to be in this situation, but I am between jobs. My last paycheck was 6 weeks ago, and I'm not eligible for unemployment.
At least I have medicare and just enough social security to cover my rent, but the rest of my bills are coming due now, and I can't pay them.
If I can just get through this month, I think I'll be okay. There are some job prospects on the horizon, but I really need some cash NOW to get me through this tight spot.
I know many people are in similar situations. Nothing really makes me different except maybe that I'm willing to speak out and ask for the help I so desperately need.
My health is not great, and my age is against me in terms of easily finding work. If you can help me here, I'll be more than grateful.
