Now it is happening to me, it's not so quite that funny..
Finally, had to get a new pair of bi-focals today,

(16,334 posts)The kind you didn't just see and then BAM! There it is, dark and pointed out for all the world to see?
I grow them in patches.
Then there's the one-sided mustache. And the mole on the side of my face that sprouts a two inch hair every couple of months.
Meanwhile, head, underarm, and leg hairs are disappearing into the ether.
HA!

I remember getting annoyed with older people in stores when I would get behind them and they would walk at a snail's pace. Or complain about bad legs or knees.
I'm now being punished for that.
My knees are horrible. I can't hop and dance, and getting up from a chair (or sitting down) causes groans of pain.
Anyway, the same with the fine print. In fact, just today I got all pissy with one of those twist ties on a new loaf of bread. Had to put my spectacles on to see the twist tie and which way it twisted. Then had to try and get my stiff fingers to work to get it off.
sucks.
I now have a magnifying glass that lights up!! It totally rocks.
It totally sucks that I need it.

I am going to continue to make a conscious effort not to do that.

When MiddleFingerMomDad&Mom retired to Arizona, they purposefully avoided living in a "seniors-only"
neighborhood because they didn't want to hear people gripe on and on about their ungrateful kids, the
dammed gummint and bowel movements and such.

Where I differ, obviously... is that I LOVE a good poop joke.

(5,364 posts)I can only read newsprint in sunlight now, I need "cheaters" for indoor reading. I know I'll eventually need them all the time, but I'm only 50 and just don't want to give in so easily.

(21,046 posts)And I needed them sooner than that. Always had my nose in a book.
I'm nearsighted.
Now I'm in bifocals.
The fine print is so bad that it's easier for me to rip my glasses off and look at the fine print without glasses. My focusing distance in my good eye is 6 inches, in the bad one it's 4 inches.
I can see much better in contacts, but I can't whip em off to read fine print. One eye is for distance, the other is for closeup and my brain fuses the images. It's called monovision.
