Ol Flame Head makes the leap from movies to the small screen this fall when Gabriel Luna brings the most recent version of Ghost Rider to Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Instead of a motorcycle (or a horse like the original original incarnation), Robbie Reyes drives a flaming 1969 Dodge Charger and weve got an exclusive look at the demon and his car in all their fiery glory.
Ghost Rider opens up a whole different kind of storytelling for us, says S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeff Bell. Not only is it the most well-known Marvel character theyve ever had on the show, but its someone whose origins present themselves as supernatural. Thats not just a leap for the show, which exists mostly in a world of spies and agents; its a leap for the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. Before we see Doctor Strange on the big screen in November, Ghost Rider will be laying out the rules for mysticism in the MCU.
Ghost Riders appearance also coincides with the shows move to 10 p.m., which Chloe Bennet who plays Daisy says means a season thats darker and sexier than anything thats come before. If anyones familiar with the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider, she says, they know that the show will have to deal with issues of vengeance, penance, the line between good and evil, and who deserves to die. These massive themes [are] being threaded throughout our season.

(1,681 posts)They need to do more than just have him make a "quick appearance" to keep me watching. I want real Marvel characters showing up in AOS. Cheap-ass show.

Reading the summaries for the individual episodes in seasons I & II, I simply couldn't care less. It reads like half-assed Marvel fan fiction.

(1,681 posts)It has that formula Disney style writing. Everyone is super-smart/talented & has a witty comeback for every situation. The only reason this POS show is still on the air, is because it's mildly Avengers-related.
Hopefully, they figured out they have to put some "heroes" in there or watch the ratings continue to scrape the bottom. This Ghost Rider is a 3rd tier hero, but it's a giant step in the right direction. This show needs a Spider-Woman appearance in the most extreme way.
