Can anyone explain this to me? The song used is "You Don't Own Me"
I get the song and i liked its use in the "First Wives Club", but what does that have to do with a car? It makes no sense at all to me.

(65,057 posts)Then it would still be weird, but there would be some logic to it.
Then everyone is shout/singing the thing in unison. Is it supposed to be some anti-establishment take? Like driving a a Toyota is outside the norm? Which of course, it's completely inside the norms.
It's just so out of place that i find it annoying.

(2,252 posts)it's about the freedom to do what you want to do, drive what you want to drive. Would be more interesting if we were already in the era of self driving cars. Then again what do I know. I've never driven a car or applied for a license to do so.

(65,057 posts)They're not competing against that yet. And, the freedom to drive what you want? Not getting how the song applies because we can do that in any car. What makes this car different?
That's my problem with this commercial. It's not selling anything we don't already have in any car. That's just stupid advertising. They're selling something that isn't for sale and already achievable without buying a Toyota.
