Invisble Man by Ralph Ellison

The audiobook version of this book is available for free until Dec. 31, 2016 on audible.com.

I think that you have to have a membership or at least an account with then in order to see the offer.

One passage described on a winter evening stopping at a food cart in NYC and getting a hot yam with syrup and melted butter! I have enjoyed this treat ever since.
