They also don't want an army of overpaid, clueless, arrogant bureaucrats deciding things for them about which they have no knowledge. Denmark almost withdrew when the EU Commission in Brussels told them their domestically grown apples were too small, so they would not be allowed to call them "apples." The EU Commission relented, and let them call their apples "apples." But the arrogance and cluelessness are still governing far too many aspects of life here.
