Has anyone else been getting all kinds of spam texts lately?

This last two weeks, I have gotten some twenty spam texts either saying I can get a free Ipad2 or free Iphone5. All hours of the night. I received two of them at 430 in the morning.

I try calling the numbers back from a blocked number, and they always say that the voicemail hasn't been set up. Pretty sure they are google voice type accounts.

Anyone else getting these?

I had to tell my wife NOT to reply. She's mad I won't let her have a free iPad3.

2. I haven't been getting those, but I have been getting some others

I don't pay extra for unlimited text since I can iMessage my wife and kids for free, so the spam texts really piss me off since I have to pay for them. I called AT&T and complained about it. At first they blew me off, so I sent a nasty email to the CEO. Their "executive" customer service issued me a $30 credit. There's not much you can do about them. You can reply back with STOP, but most of them don't have valid numbers to reply back. Probably the best thing to do is forward the message to SPAM (7726). They investigate the message and can sometimes block them at the carrier level.
