My first waking hours screw up of 2017!1 (My yesterday's at DU don't count.)
Started off well enough, washing off the lovely birds' droppings on the car. Then went to fuel up, enjoying the empty streets and empty everything along the way, taking the extra long trip. So it didn't seem odd that the entire Costco parking lot and pumps were empty, just a Sunday and New Year's morning, and I actually made sure the pumps were turned on by checking the price windows. So went through the whole schmear, debarking, uncapping, debit carding, and the window said to take the handle and pick the fuel ------------ and when the handle wouldn't budge is when I saw the giant padlock on it. Felt like a schmuck. One car drove up and looked at a pump but didn't get down and I waved her away. Driving away, I looked around hoping nobody had seen me being a schmuck.
My first fun of 2017 will be tomorrow, calling Costco and telling the poor soul answering the phone that they might put a very visible CLOSED sign somewhere.
