I'm in southern Ohio and this will be our first accumulating snow this season. We're supposed to get 2-4 inches and the kids get a day off. Yay!

Hell, here in Minnesota 2-4 inches of snow means you might wear socks. I don't remember ever getting a snow day in my 12 years attending public schools. We did get to wear slacks under our skirts, though, if it was really cold.

(115,732 posts)3. If it snowed a lot we'd listen to the radio in the morning,
hoping desperately they'd call a snow day for our school, but they never did. Sometimes schools out in the country got closed but that was as likely to be on account of extreme cold (they didn't want kids standing at bus stops in subzero weather) as for snow. So we'd bundle up and off we'd go...
It's 0 here right now, predicted to be -5 later. The schools will be open.
