She took a lot of criticism since she didn't get a new dress, but wore the same gown she wore for the gubernatorial inauguration. Jimmy approved, said she looked beautiful...

You get pix of pretty much every modern First Lady, honest mistake. Not all of us were around during Nixon/Carter and that wasn't the point of the post, anyway...

I don't think she took such a prominent public role as our more recent First Ladies. I'm most familiar with Mrs. Carter since I just finished listening to President Carter's book, "A Full Life: Reflections at Ninety," on audio. It's a fascinating account, learned a lot I never knew before and realized how much he agrees with the progressive ideas we have today. And he talked about the controversy over Rosalyn's already-worn ball gown. And he certainly has led a full life, didn't get to discussing his presidency until disc #5!

I just came back, had issues with my email, but I finally managed it. And I know I have a full inbox... I'm depressed and scared as much as anyone here after the results of the election, am still hoping to wake up! So I'm grateful to be back, DU's gotten me through rough times before, and I sure missed the camaraderie... It's so good to be among friends.

...maybe I could trump match his hair and just disappear into a big orange cloud.

Good to see you.

BTW, I don't like snow.

And those drapes are far too nice for her suit choices.

The link you have for Michelle Obama's dress is not for her inaugural dress. Here are hers:
