LOL! I'm officially old. I quit smoking 8 years ago. Twenty Seven

Last edited Tue Jan 10, 2017, 02:30 AM - Edit history (2)

years I smoked. I had chili tonight and the tomato sauce was wicked up the smokers lines of my mouth onto the skin above and below. I had heard about it, was warned about it by a nurse who was trying to get me to quit smoking back in the day. LOL! This and recent senior moments make it official: I am starting a new stage of life when my body attacks me for the sins of the past.

It's so nice not having to (or wanting to) interrupt what I'm doing to rush outside and smoke! What a ball and chain that was!

I'm glad though that you quit 8 years ago before more damage was done. Hopefully, no more damage...

I smoked about 22 years. Hopefully nothing like that will show up for me. Though when I wash my mouth with full strength Listerine (which I do daily because of smoking - caused periodontal disease), there is some pain, I think from sucking so much hard candy during my many quit attempts!

but I fear the nasty weed may come back to haunt me as I age.
So far I don't think so.

Best wishes that it doesn't

I don't think I've had that chili or spaghetti thing happen to e though.

Wouldn't matter - after Pizza, spaghetti and tex-mex food are my favorites so I'm eating them no matter what it looks like.

Then again, I have a pretty good sized beard and mustache to cover up all that. And save some for later!

*Yes, 4/20 was on purpose. no more cigs but if 420 becomes legal in FL I'll indulge.
