cowboys hate walking

it means they lost a horse either from getting bucked off or other bad training. or some other type of misfortune. I inherited that feeling from my Grampa. hate walking.

however, I have been working hard the last 6 months on my physical condition - actually working out 3 days a week and eating better (and less) among other things. I had been doing the bare minimum in the walking area because of my bad attitude but my coach finally hit on some luck and strategy to get me doing it in December. I made it to my first mile yesterday. (round trip - hey my goal is only 5 miles by July, I have bad knees, and did I mention I hate walking?)

one of my motivators has been this hilarious new kitten. she thinks she is a dog some of the time. I am not sure this is the best idea for a cat in an area with a fair share of wild predators, but it makes me giggle when she comes and I don't have the heart to lock her in the house - she jumps excitedly at the door waiting to go out just like a dog.

when the bear goes after you.

It is cute when cats rebel against catness.

It started on a long summer evening when I wanted to go for a run after work. They followed me out of the yard and into the alleyway behind the house. I had to stop before I crossed the street because I was afraid they would try to run across the street without looking. So I changed my path and walked around the corner and without crossing any street. We did this for years in good weather. The neighbors got to know me as the crazy lady who walks her cats.

We think he likes to walk with Alley because he has "backup" to travel "outside the wire" so to speak.

she is an illegal alien from Chihuahua (brought her across with no papers) I call her a paint coyote because she was so feral acting at first - and she would eat ANYTHING. she is much more of a regular house dog now.
