Just want to thank the lounge.....

I lost my sh!t a few weeks ago, and you folk offered some sage like advice. Mostly. Some of it was crap, but, even then it was good to know that folk cared.

I spent the last 10 or so days not looking at the news, or even turning on my tablet, for fear of news updates. Last night I caught up on all I've missed, including Trever and SNL, and I could finally laugh agin.

I spent the last week celebrating Guinni, an elderly dog who has overcome potential tragedy to be an almost perfectly functional critter. I did some winter hiking in the beautiful Shenandoah Mountains. I played Norma, my guitar that sadly had been gathering dust. I re-read "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior." And most important, I remembered that I had a life before the 2016 election began back in 2013..... and I still do.

So thank you all who came to my aid, especially those of you who told me to take a break from politics for a bit. Living in D.C. It's hard to walk away, but a good nature hike never hurt anyone, and I feel so much more human now.

May our next week be even better than my last!

Enjoy:

Living in the epicenter must feel extremely surreal. I'm in red state Kansas and the Republicans I have talked to are beginning to feel worried about things as well (like health care, and immigration enforcement, and Russian interference). If there is disturbed chatter in the heartland among the Republican faithful, it must be especially hard to unplug where you are.
