First of all I love Facebook to keep up with family big issue are hobbies I have, archery/bowhunting, fishing and pigeon keeping. Seems events such as the women's day off yesterday will bring out the trump humpers in droves with idiotic memes or crass tasteless comments.
I ignore most keeping conversations on subjects about the hobby at hand. I tell you though it's tough sometimes.

(6,081 posts)Decided that the whole Junior High mentality it fosters wasn't for me.

(5,914 posts)Like most people who have gone on in the world, I hated junior high and was damn happy to leave it. Facebook is like junior high on steroids.

(6,457 posts)People calling themselves Christians and giving Amen's to the meanest of Trumps tweets and actions is getting sickening.

(268 posts)Right after the election, I was in such a funk I needed to get away from it. Too much chest-pounding. I deactivated my account for 3 months, just to have some peace. Since I've been back on, it's been much easier to deal with. I still have one or two over-the-top Trump humpers on my friend list, one in particular who feels the need to chime in on some fairly innocuous posts with a lot of yelling about "libs!". I generally tend to ignore him, but I imagine sooner or later, on a beer-fueled rant, I'm going to blast him and then unfriend him.
I've got a FB friends who are good friends with my wife in real life, and I try to avoid commenting on any of their Trump posts. It's a balancing act, for sure.

(5,260 posts)I've always been selective on who I accept as stranger-friends. So I'm devoid of Herr Drumpf supporters. Facebook is a news feed for me, especially with foreign news sources. I had one old friend from 30 years ago who went kristo-nutter and utter fascist. All contact was severed - email, phone, LinkedIn, etc.

their Trumpster love fest or Hillary/Obama hate fest. I just don't interact with them at all on fb.
I have friends all over the country--and around the world--where I enjoy staying up with their lives and seeing photos on fb.

(53 posts)to find out what's going on with the family. When some of them post pro Trump stuff, I ignore it as best as I can because a person being pro Trump often diminishes them in my eyes. ..and these are people that I care about. One or two pro Trump friends (not family) I have blocked (not unfriended) because frankly, I just get tired of looking at the BS. At the same time I use Facebook to follow Bill Moyers. Pam Spaulding, John Pavlovitz (of the Christian Left) and Robert Reich. Really, it's how I keep informed. So for me, it's not a waste.

(1,148 posts)...they have been really quiet about politics lately. Why don't I unfriend them? Because I've known them since childhood and I have to keep tabs on Trumpies somehow.
