(25,033 posts)...at Yokota Air Base outside of Tokyo, I was a member of our base amateur theatre group. One of our productions was The Fantasticks.
I was The Mute. Perfect for me, because my voice does not carry and my singing range is limited. I did not have to worry about forgetting my lines -

It changed my view of him.
I loved him without reservation until he died. What a loss.
I have his original cast 'Try To Remember' on my playlist.
Just Jerry, a piano, and a harp.

(67,635 posts)my dad played the Old Actor in a production of The Fantastiks, during a time in my life that can best be described as idyllic.
'Try To Remember' always reminds me of those wonderful times...

(17,528 posts)I had no idea what it was about, but the soundtrack is embedded in my memory. Although I still disagree with the conclusion that "you must always leave the Wall."
I understand the latest version modifies that to "it was never about the Wall," which is a weak line, IMO.
