https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_in_the_High_Castle_(TV_series)I do think they showed the Japanese in a harsher light than the Nazis, but that's my only real nitpick. I hope Amazon keeps producing it for several seasons.

(23,677 posts)Or the fact the Americans keep coming up with evidence that is contrary to the fact that Germany & Japan won. Otherwise, it's very interesting to imagine what would have happened if we had lost WWII.

(23,677 posts)It's very possible I haven't put 2 & 2 together. All I know is Hawthorne Abendsen, The Man in the High Castle, had a collection of films depicting future events (nuclear bomb attack on San Francisco)which Hitler wants or alternate universe events.
Tagomi shifts between universes, the one where he is a Japanese Foreign Minister and the other where the US won the war and Julia is married to his son. So just confused about those 2 storylines.

(56,828 posts)season 2 went beyond the book. I read the book after I watched season 1, but before season 2.
I enjoyed both seasons - I thought they really did a great job in season 1 of creating an authentic feel for the early 60s, if America had lost the war and was under German control - Volkswagen beetles being mass produced in NY.
I initially thought John Smith was going to be a one-dimensional villain, but Rufus Sewell and the writers did a terrific job, IMHO, of giving him real depth.
