The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI'd like to learn a Martian art. Any suggestions?
Is "grokking" really all it's cracked up to be?
I should rather like to learn how to sit at the bottom of a swimming pool for a few hours, but I don't suppose that's a very marketable skill.

As long as nobody thinks to fill it with water. That ruins the whole experience.

On Mars, done as Matt Damon did it, it probably counts.
In Idaho, done by me, not so much.
As long as nobody thinks to fill it with water. That ruins the whole experience.
You, my friend, are too clever by half.
That is an excellent idea for a performance art piece.

Or take up this kind of sand art:

(13,787 posts)I can't fathom the amount of talent and patience it must take to develop a skill like that.

(34,136 posts)Some of the artists do images that create a story rather than just a theme. They are amazing!
I could never do that kind of work - just would not be able to have the stability to have clean lines. I do needlework because I can usually rip out mistakes and do the area over!

What's the connection?
