Cell Phone etiquette question:

Public restroom: Woman has a man on speaker phone!

1) I feel this is rude to the other women

2) I feel this is rude to the caller - why does he want to listen to random women tinkling and flushing toilets?

Am I just an old-fashioned prude?

I thought it was bad when I encountered people having non-speaker phone conversations in public restrooms!

I don't think you are a prude. You just respect others.

I usually do a long loud uninterrupted "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH..." (Like students at a college basketball game, if you know what I mean.)

the stupid piece of shit that ran into the back of a school bus yesterday afternoon because she was on the damned cell phone talking to her BFF about what color her toenails should be.

How do I know the particulars?

She had her windows down, (nice day), she had it on speaker and I was standing next to the bus stop.

Granted, she was only doing like 2 or 3 miles per hour, but she may have totaled the car she was driving.

Running under a Blue Bird school bus, even at 3 miles per hour, can do significant damage...and it did.

Destroyed both fenders, hood, windshield, raked upper part of motor completely off the motor, bent the fire wall of the car and even buckled part of the roof.

But the really rude part was when she started screaming at me for not warning her about the bus being stopped.

But she would have screamed at me anyway...that's just the way my wife is when situations are out of her control, it's her fault and she won't accept the blame.

Cell phones and the dumb asses that do not know the appropriate time for the use of them, are going to kill us.

But I'm glad she wasn't hurt. Not a scratch on her. Air bags didn't even deploy.

Oh...she did drop her phone on the pavement and cracked the screen.

That's most likely my fault, also.

Anyone know a good divorce lawyer?

Worse than an elevator. I rarely talk on the phone but the other day I got a rare call on I was on the bus home from work, I was really self conscious about it and kept is as brief as possible, because that's another obnoxious place to be talking on the phone! Text, don't talk.

Peace

No hassle, just relax. But the downside can be that I (and others) get to hear someone else's phone calls. Often at great length and at great volume.

If I do get a call, I know it's from my wife or one of my daughters. No one else has my number. I keep it very quiet and very short. Not so many years ago it would have been impossible to make such a call. It didn't really cause problems then. It's rarely a necessity now.

...if I am over at someone else's house and need to use the bathroom adjacent to the kitchen/ family room, so as to mask any bodily function noises.

No way I would carry on a cell phone conversation while "enthroned," so to speak. I value both privacy and ncivility, and am NOT a fan of TMI.
