Guess it's the new yoyo or clacker balls. Something new to drive teachers crazy.

at best it gives them something *in their hands* to focus on, instead perhaps something on the other side of the classroom.

at worst (and i'm guessing most of the time) it's just one more distraction to keep them from focusing on what the teacher wants them to focus on....

13. I keep thinking that - crochet hook, circulars, tatting shuttle, or jump rings and pliers.

Knit or crochet or make chain mail. Doesn't matter what the finished product looks like, doesn't matter if there's a pattern, just make fabric.

I get the need -- I have mild ADHD, and my class notes were always covered in doodles and images and flow charts. I was mind-mapping before it was a thing, and I got in trouble with several teachers because I wasn't taking notes in an outline format. I still do better in lectures, meetings, or presentations when I have something in my hands and can divide my brain tracks into physical with non-attentive motion and intellectual concentration.

I'm just glad the spinners hit fad status in spring. They'll be passé by September.

Did some surveys on the interwebs for points, and when I was done, all I could afford was a spinner. It kind of reminds me when I was younger and really into juggling - including plate spinning, but I can't do any tricks with the spinner. I spin it a few times a day just to freak out my cats.

Doesn't do anything for me, but they have a love-hate relationship with the dang thing, attacking it when it's spinning as if it were some sort of demented bug, and then acting super cool when it stops as if they arranged it.

I was angry about something the other night and kept spinning it, calmed me right down and I'm 61 years old!
