Jerry Lewis and the "Typewriter Song."

"Who's Minding the Store?" came on TV this morning. I saw Leroy Anderson's "Typewriter Song" listed in the credits. I like Leroy Anderson, so I made it far enough into the movie to see how it would be shown. I didn't have to wait long.

Those of you who have used a typewriter, what is the first thing you notice? I mean, other than the absence of a typewriter.

Jerry Lewis is still alive, but "{i}n June 2017, Lewis was hospitalized at a Las Vegas hospital after suffering from a urinary tract infection."

Clearly, everyone in 1963, when this movie was made (and i just looked it up in Leonard Maltin's 2007 Movie Guide) knew that you used your left hand to return the carriage.

I guess they did this for continuity. It was filmed both ways, and this way looked better.

Thanks for writing.

That Jim Carrey as a child must have spent countless hours watching Jerry Lewis.

Almost identical.

We have a couple of CDs of his music and they are among our favorites. He wrote a concerto that is beautiful
