Pennywise Teams With Lost Coast Brewery For Pennywiser Beer
Punk rock music, beer and good times are all pretty much synonymous, which is why it made perfect sense for Pennywise to release its own craft beer.
The quartet from Hermosa Beach partnered with Eurekas Lost Coast Brewery for the release of Pennywiser, a Session IPA that will be available in limited release in Southern California starting Wednesday, Sept. 6.
Bassist Randy Bradbury said that for years the band members, including guitarist Fletcher Dragge, drummer Byron McMakin and vocalist Jim Lindberg, would joke that they needed their own beer, which they already knew theyd want to call Pennywiser.
We had talked to a few different breweries and there was some good beer to offer up in the past, but nothing ever worked out, Bradbury said during a recent phone interview. When Lost Coast Brewery got involved, that was a company that I was familiar with because Ive had their Great White beer and the Indica IPA and Ive enjoyed them and probably stumbled around or taken my shirt off or something after drinking them. But, the minute I heard their name thrown in, personally I was very interested because theyre a great company and their labels always have really cool artwork. I knew it would be a perfect fit.
