What if Alan Turing, founder of the modern computer age, escaped assassination by the secret service to become the lover of Beat author William Burroughs? What if they mutated into giant shapeshifting slugs, fled the FBI, raised Burroughss wife from the dead, and tweaked the H-bombs of Los Alamos?
Ummm ... OK.

(6,017 posts)He committed suicide after his own government forced him to take female hormones in an effort to make him not gay. And yeah, even back then they knew it was bad science. What they didn't know was that giving a non-trans person the "wrong" sex hormones would severely throw off his serotonin regulation, which likely promoted a depression deep enough for suicide. You know, above and beyond that induced by saving his country & others with his code breaking, only to have them turn on him for falling in love with someone of the non-approved sex.
