Why did Coke Zero change their formula?

Yeah, I know it's horrible for you and has no nutritional value whatsoever, but I just drank a bottle that tasted different and noticed "New Improved Taste" on the label.

I liked the old unimproved taste. Stronger on the clove and less sweet, which is why I preferred it to bland Diet Coke.

Now it's...bland.

more like regular old-fashioned diet soda. The reason I bought Coke Zero in the first place was because I wanted something that tasted different than regular diet coke.

Guess I'll stick with my fall back - seltzer with cola-flavored stevia drops (Sweet Leaf brand). Probably better for me, and I can change-up the taste if I want (grape, orange, rootbeer, coconut, lemon, vanilla creme).

whenever you ask "Who do they...?", the answer is almost always, "Money."

Many household names, like Coke, have gone international with their marketing strategies so it's not just about what works here but rather what works on a world scale.

7. I'd read when it was introduced that it was based on the European Diet Coke.

And that it was marketed toward a male consumer as a calorie-free drink without the "diet" label.

I was happy to find an option that wasn't bland, and now I'm back to bland.

Pepsi Max fans? Weigh in.

....Aspartame is a neuro-toxin. Real sugar is actually safer. Not to mention that aspartame mimics several diseases like, diabetes, neuropathy, fibromyalgia, ADD, depression, etc. It gets inside your brain and takes a long time to clear out. But, you're more than welcome to my share.

Hmmm, after re-reading that, maybe I should change my user name to "Debbie Downer"! To each, I always say.

I've got some dear, sweet family members who mean well, but when we talk I need a strong libation - and not of the carbonated type.

....aspartame. So it's got to be safe, right?! Although my drug of choice is usually a cinnamon roll!
